Jaquet Method

What is the Jaquet method ?

Its main characteristic is that is CUSTOMIZED to your needs.

In the same way that your doctor does not prescribe the same medical treatment to patients who have different illnesses, physical exercise ought to be adapted to the needs and wants of each person.

The Jaquet method has 5 fundamental principals :

  1. Your morphology

  2. Your general health

  3. Your age

  4. Your gender

  5. Your physical abilities

A person who is overweight should not be expected to do the same exercises as a person who is thin. In the same logic that a person with a fragile health cannot accomplish the same as someone healthy, teenagers haven't  to realize the same movements as seniors, women's workout should be different from men's and a sedentary person should not have the same exercises as a long-time sportsman.

This very precise approach gives it all its originality and makes it particularly effective.

Others factors are taken into account in addition to the 5 primary factors that constitute the basis for our method.

In order to better customize the movements based on your needs and desires, the teacher of physical fitness does a very detailed checkup. This test-exam is compulsory prior to registering.

It is designed for us to know your health history, esthetic objectives and physical abilities in order for us to design the right exercises.

In the same way that the general doctor examins the patient in order to prescribe the right prescription, the teacher of body shaping creates a complete check-up before elaborating a training program and to give a "prescription of movements".

  1. LE CHECK-UP

     one-on-one informational meeting

This test-exam lasts a minimum of 2 hours. It entails:

     1. Taking your measurements, weight and fat percentage

     2. Assessing your morphopsychology temperament

     3. Health history questionnaire such as illnesses, surgeries, sports-related trauma, work  injuries...

It also includes a precise examination of your spine by the instructor ( a review of X-rays and radiology reports may be required )

     4. Prioritizing your functional and esthetic objectives

     5. Testing exercises on the areas and muscular groups most in need in order to evaluate your physical abilities.

With all this data, your teacher will elaborate a training program which will be measured, progressive and personalized.

2. YOUR CLASS

The physical fitness session is made out of 2 parts :

     1. Individual movements :

You will be focusing on 5 main exercises as part of your daily training plan. They are truly adapted to your needs and target the areas you want to improve. They account for 5/6 of your training duration.

     2. The targeted group classes :

The teacher will provide guidance. You will have the opportunity to do a variety of physical exercises on a specific area of the body with other students.

For women, it can focus on the tighs, glutes, hips, waist, abdominals, breast, lower back, back and so on.

For men, it can focus on abdominals, shoulders, arms, chest, back, thighs, calves and so on.

The group sessions always target a part of the body, a specific muscle group.

It is unique to the Jaquet Method.
