A Family Story

My career journey is simple. l look over the family business.

My parents were pioneers in physical culture. They started teaching it in 1949 in Bayonne, France, at a time when gym and bodybuilding was very little practiced or known in France.

True forward thinkers, they created and managed about 20 physical fitness centers during their lifetime. They were located throughout the South of France such as Bayonne, Dax, Montpellier, Marseille, Nice and the French Riviera.

From the age of 12, my father was fascinated by his history book and the Greek civilization in particular. He was awestruck by the beauty of the Greek statuary. That is when he decided to make physical sculpture his profession. It was a real vocation.

Well ahead of his time, his career lasted over 50 years.

During the same period, my mother practiced artistic gymnastics in Bordeaux. Like my father, she was very gifted in sports. She became France's Champion of Gymnastics in 1951.

She also taught Physical Education in middle and high schools throughout Bordeaux.

My parents met due their mutual passion : physical exercise.

During half a century, they trained physical culture instructors to apply the Jaquet method in their fitness centers.

You can say that I fell in the magic potion cauldron since I was already practicing physical culture by the age of 10. My parents designed an exercise program to my age.
